Has been a professional ventriloquist for over 40 years. He learned the fundamentals of ventriloquism from the late Great Edgar Bergen, a pioneer of modern ventriloquism. ventriloquist master Edgar Bergen, was the world's first ventriloquist super star of stage, screen, radio and television.

Phil carries on his tradition of creating great entertainment, through humor and showmanship within the timeless art of Ventriloquism.

Phil is a member of the professional ventriloquist community which has its annual convention every year in July. Ventriloquists from all over the world attend this gathering, including legends such as Jimmy Nelson, Jay Johnson and Terry Fator.

In July, 2016,Phil was recently added to the photograph gallery collection of the Vent Haven Museum, the world's only museum dedicated to the preservation and documentation of the artistry and history of Ventriloquism.

Vent Haven Museum is the only museum of its kind in the world.  It houses more than 800 figures, thousands of photographs, playbills, letters, and an extensive library of vent-related books, some of which date back to the 1700’s.

On June 30, 1973, Vent Haven Museum was officially opened to the public with the dedication of the W.S. Berger Memorial Building.  The Vent Haven Museum is located in Fort Mitchell, KY, USA.


Phil Nichols made history as the only ventriloquist in history to ever play the historic night club NUMBERS (#'s) in Houston. He was featured in the Cirque HOU Cabaret Variety Show, taking to the stage made famous by The Village People, Nine Inch Nails, David Bowie, and other famous acts.

Keys for Kiddos

In addition to his life appearances, for three seasons, Phil was the featured ventriloquist on a children's TV program for ION Television entitled "KEYS FOR KIDDOS" for three full seasons. For more about this project, visit the Keys for Kiddos page.
